- Integrated refrigerated docks for receiving and shipping products in addition to constantly monitored refrigerated storage and production areas means we do not break the cold chain. We conduct temperature checks before receiving, during storage, during production and while shipping products.
- Computer enhanced refrigeration controls with around the clock monitoring systems
- State-of-the-art packaging and portion systems
- Dedicated Ready-to-Eat & Re-Pack rooms
- Detailed Quality Assurance programs and seafood Quality Control Grading Rooms
- Interventions for tenderized beef steaks and Ozonated Water Systems & Ozonated Flake Ice in seafood operations
- Lobster Rooms & Shellfish Coolers
- Detailed facility Sanitation systems, including daily detailed and verified sanitation procedures, with extensive environmental monitoring programs to verify effectiveness, along with detailed personal hygiene control programs, and product distribution sanitation checks and distribution temperature controls
- Product Specific Temperature Zones including dedicated frozen, fresh meat, poultry and seafood and live seafood zones
- Daily interaction, coordination and cooperation with Canadian Food Inspection Agency or USDA Food Safety Inspection Service (FSIS) Inspection personnel
All our facilities are certified in compliance with the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) standard. Our facilities use the Safe Quality Foods (SQF) food safety standard and an independent auditing and certification provider to annually audit our facilities for compliance, in addition to performing extensive internal corporate food safety team audits and ongoing benchmarking and continual improvement programs.
Additionally, all our facilities are compliant with SQF’s Food Quality standard, which exceeds GFSI basic food safety standards. This helps us assure our customers receive not only the safest, but the highest quality products. Finally, each of our facilities are monitored by at least one of the following regulatory agencies: The US Food and Drug Administration, FSIS or CFIA.
