About Us

Founded in the 1950s as A.J. Martin, we were acquired by Sysco in the late 2000s. To better serve Sysco Boston, we reopened as Malcolm Meat of Rhode Island in 2011, and three years later, rebranded to Buckhead. We have grown into a specialty meat company focused on the success of our customers, serviced by Sysco Boston, Sysco Connecticut, and Sysco Northern New England. Known for providing the highest quality proteins, our meats are held to rigorous standards for tenderness, juiciness, and rich flavor. From portion-controlled steaks and chops to vacuum-tumbled marinated meats, we offer a wide variety of high-value, premium proteins that consistently exceed customer expectations.

We have proudly serviced areas from western Connecticut to the northern tip of Maine through our partnerships with Sysco Distribution. Two years ago, we expanded our distribution by using our own fleet of trucks and vans to deliver locally within Massachusetts and Connecticut. As we continue to grow, we are expanding our routes and distribution areas.

Our specialty has always been delivering high-quality cut steaks and marinades. Over the years, our marination lines have grown to include 18 different flavors across various cuts of beef, pork, and poultry.

As an industry leader in technology, cold chain management process control and packaging, food safety is our primary concern at all times. Our state of the art production facility is USDA and FSIS, with an inspector onsite everyday the plant is in operation. Additionally, our facility features a fully implemented Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) program, Standard Sanitation Operation Procedures (SSOP), a complete Food Safety and Quality Assurance staff, microbiological testing and a rigorous allergen control plan so that you can be sure the product you receive meets the highest quality and safety standards. Buckhead Boston is SQF Level 3 certified which raises the bar by focusing on food quality as well as safety.
